Camp Out

Where this data comes from

Camp Out is an independent app made by Go Camping LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by any government agency, and it does not represent any government entity or provide government services. Information below is reproduced from public sources and may be incomplete or out of date — only the managing agency can confirm current conditions, fees, closures or access.

Camp Out doesn't survey campgrounds itself. Every site on the map comes from a public agency, an open mapping project, or a camper who has been there. This page credits each of them.

Many campgrounds are built from more than one source. When that happens the app lists each contributor on the campground's own screen, so you can see exactly where a record came from.

Maps and navigation

Map display and directions are provided by Google Maps on both Android and iOS. Google's terms apply to the map itself, separately from the campground information Camp Out supplies.

Campers

People who use Camp Out can confirm a campground is open, correct details that are wrong, and suggest a better location for a pin. Contributions are shown without a name. Corrections are reviewed by a person before anything changes on the map.

Corrections
